Introduction to Christian Mediation
What is mediation?
Mediation is either an hourly or full-day service offered to two or more people in conflict and is usually facilitated by two or more conciliators.
Mediation is a dynamic and effective means to resolve conflict between people. It empowers people to have ownership over both the process and the outcome, and can provide a powerful way to experience God’s life-changing grace. In mediation one or more neutral persons work with both parties to improve communication and understanding so that the parties can arrive at a voluntary agreement (Matt. 18:16). Mediators have no power to impose a solution; mediation is sometimes referred to as “facilitated negotiation.”
How does it work?
A Christian conciliator is someone who is called and equipped in a particular circumstance to help another person or persons resolve a conflict. The three primary roles of a Christian conciliator include that of a conflict coach, a mediator, and an arbitrator. Our services are custom-tailored to facilitate the most effective resolution of both personal and material issues. Personal issues involve relational failures, while material issues involve conflicts related to tangible resources such as time or money.
